Geotechnical and geoenvironmental subsurface investigations are essential in the evaluation of construction sites. EBA provides a variety of subsurface investigative services to characterize soil, rock, and groundwater conditions. Toward this end, geotechnical/environmental drilling is instrumental. Drilling services include:
- Soil boring
- Soil and groundwater sampling
- Rock coring
- Concrete and asphalt core sampling
- In-Situ testing
- The installation of monitoring wells, piezometers, inclinometers, and other geotechnical instruments
EBA's staff of drillers have all completed the OSHA 40-hour, HAZWOPER training and have contaminated site experience. The Drilling Department is managed by Kenneth R. Manos, II, a licensed Master Well Driller with over 20 years of experience. The Drilling Department is equipped with:
- Two truck-mounted drill rigs
- Two all-terrain vehicle-mounted drill rigs
- Hand augers
- A tripod for access to difficult sites
Associated equipment includes support vehicles, rock and concrete coring equipment, special soil sampling devices, large diameter augers, and assorted drilling tools.
